I read an interesting article about how cloud computing can create jobs in the immediate and long term future and it got me thinking about something that is almost counter intuitive. If one of the benefits of cloud computing is efficiency and the reduction of IT staff (i.e. jobs) to maintain infrastructure, the first thought is the cloud is greatly reducing jobs. However, this article points out a key point that even with the move to the cloud, that just opens up a huge door for people with skills developing applications and having vision in how to implement a cloud solution. One door closes but another opens up with the potential of a 100X multiplier. Very intriguing....
